StreetLight Data Geospatial Query Builder
My first project after joining StreetLight Data was redesigning the query flow in their traffic analysis application that allows transportation planners to get metrics for the travel patterns of people in their municipalities on-demand. I also managed the development of the new design, which led to a significant increase in customer sat and dramatically improved user experience.
I led a customer research effort to understand pain points in the existing flow and dove deep in to the technical architecture of the application and data platform while designing the new experience.
To overcome the hurdle of inconsistent industry language, I designed a illustrative iconography system that described concepts in visuals instead of words, which subsequently became a cornerstone of the company look-and-feel from a brand perspective and hydrated customer support content.
